BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

We're building not only for today, but for future generations.

That's why it is important to consider what happens to building materials at the end of a building's life cycle.

Recycling is a key issue for Miralis. We are committed to offering insulation with a low carbon footprint that is easy to recycle at the end of its use.

Miralis mineral foam insulation sets new standards in sustainability. In addition to its exceptionally low carbon footprint, it can be fully recycled – cradle to cradle.

RECYCLING PROCESS

At the end of a building's life cycle, it is demolished, and the rubble from the wall system is loaded onto trucks at the site for removal.

The demolition materials are transported to the nearest recycling plant, where they are pre-sorted and prepared for reprocessing. They are then broken down and shredded, for example using a jaw crusher.

Depending on the intended reuse, the separated fine foam fractions are either crushed or ground into various grain sizes, and then reintegrated into the material cycle within the concrete or cement industry.
